Day 143 - Lets take a dip...

in our new pool! Yep, we broke down and bought a pool. $5 got us a large inflatable pool, shaped like a whale. Hehehe. E and J had a great time splashing around.

Day 141 - Thank goodness!

I'm not sure why we waited so long, but we finally sat Josh in a grocery cart! Wow, has it made running errands A LOT easier. No more breaking out the carrier and/or stroller. Hooray!!! He's getting so big, so fast!

Days 138-140 - Go Dawgs!

Where have we been? Well, I was in Starkville, Mississippi, attending and presenting at a conference on the campus of MSU. It was the first time I left Josh overnight (two nights to be exact). I missed my boys so much! The conference was fantastic and the presentation was well received! Our colleagues at MSU were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. Here are a few pictures from the trip:
Mugshots - the BEST burger in the entire world. Seriously!

MSU - Quad area of campus

View of the football stadium

MSU  ice cream! Muscadine Ripple is delish! Their ice cream definitely gives the howling cow a run for their money.

Day 137 - Sneaky Sneaky

Look at this stinker. Our little mover and shaker is crawling all over the place. One of the first things he gravitated towards was the tv console. I don't know what it is, but kiddos LOVE the console. It has sliding doors, which makes it even more attractive. E plans on jerry-rigging the doors, so they do not move. With that being said, it is time to baby-proof the house. I cannot believe he is mobile...really mobile and it is only the beginning :)

Day 136 - Da plane! Da plane!

I cannot explain how tired the Doyle Three feel right now. We arrived home late last night and managed to sleep in this morning. Thank you, Josh :) I think this picture is hilarious. His facial expression is a combination of surprise from the landing and giving his diaper the business. I must add that Josh rocked both plane rides. We felt so proud of him, especially when other passengers complimented on his behavior. Of course, we probably lucked out this time. Ha!

Days 133-135...Catchin' up!

Doyle 365 is a bit behind in posting a picture a day. It becomes a little challenging when you are on the road. Here are some more pictures from our trip to DBQ.

Day 132 - "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Schlemiel! Schlimazel! Hasenpfeffer Incorporated!"

Today, we took a short drive into Wisconsin to visit the Potosi Brewery. I highly recommend touring the site on a weekday. We had the place to ourselves! After the tour we ate lunch and sampled beer. I give the Good Old Potosi Beer two thumbs up. Nice and light, right up my alley! My parents bought a growler of root beer, poured straight from the tap. The root beer is oh soooo good!

Day 131 - Where's Huck?

Today, we ventured to Mines of Spain and took a stroll along the Mississippi. Walking along the river I couldn't help but think about Huck Finn and his adventures. It was another beautiful day in DBQ.

Day 130 - A lovely day

Mom and dad took us to Galena, Illinois, about a 20 minute drive from DBQ. Galena was once the home to Ulysses S. Grant. It's a quaint little town filled with antique stores, trendy boutiques and restaurants. We ate lunch and did a little shopping (no surprise there). We arrived back at my parents house just in time to greet Kaylen at the bus stop. It was such a beautiful day. I'm so glad to be here with my family! More pictures from our visit to DBQ to come!

Days 127 - 129 - Windy City

It has been 17 years since my family lived in Chicago (a brief stay thanks to Big Blue). We've enjoyed our visit with my family and the Du's. Here are a few pictures from our weekend:

Day 126 - Delayed

Do we look a little dazed? It's because our flight was delayed by 3 hours. Woohoo.

Day 125 - My new favorite thing...

Kindle :) I LOVE IT! My dear hubby and family gave it to me for my birthday. This neat piece of technology stores a TON of books, magazines, newspapers and blogs. I've been looking into Kindles for a while and was a little torn about going paperless, then reality set in. We are running out of physical space AND how great is it that I can carry HUNDREDS of books with me all the time? I can purchase a book with a click of a button and it's uploaded in under a minute. A new book typically costs $10. I'm so excited and cannot wait to add books to my new virtual library.

Day 124 - The climber

Josh's latest obsession...climbing. This picture was taken when he decided to climb on my legs. What a cutie.

Day 123 - la la land...

This is what happens when you lay on the new couch...

Day 122 - Mother's Day. Wicked, Awesome.

I could not have asked for a better first Mother's Day! E and Josh woke me up with Starbucks, tulips, and gifts in bed. Then, Eric made a killer breakfast for his mom and me...his pops too. The perfect day ended with a show at the DPAC...WICKED! Wicked was AH-MAZING! The story, songs, set...FANTASTIC! I cannot wait to see it again. This musical is definitely a must see. Thanks, Tracy hooking us up with tickets! We had a great time with you guys!

Day 121 - It's about time!

Today, we said goodbye to our old, hand me down couch and hello to our super, wonderful, comfy sectional sofa. Thank you, tax refund!
